Sea Stachura

President, 2025-2027; Member at Large 2018 - 2020

Sea Stachura is a journalist, podcaster prose writer and editor. She has won awards for her reporting on meth addiction in mid-Missouri, accordion clubs in Milwaukee, Wisc., and sexual assaults at Augusta’s Fort Eisenhower. Her podcast, “Shots in the Back: Exhuming the 1970 Augusta Riot (GPB/JNSA)” re-opened a DOJ investigation into those events. It also won a National Edward R. Murrow Award. Her journalism has been featured on NPR, USA Today, The Augusta Chronicle, Minnesota Public Radio and others.

She is the co-author of the middle-grades musical, “Hypatia of Harlem,” which tells the story of a Black girl from Harlem, Ga. and the mathematician, Hypatia of Alexandria. Sea’s poetry and essays have been featured in Poet Lore, Thimble Literary and Ploughshares. She holds an M.A. in journalism and an M.F.A. in fiction and is originally from Detroit.

Tunisia Williams

Vice President, 2026 - 2028

Tunisia is a middle school counselor and children’s book author. She published her first picture book, Every LLama Needs a Scarf, with vanity press Tandem Light in 2021. Her first traditionally published book, The Uncles, will be released Fall 2026 by Denene Millner Books/Simon & Schuster. She has won various Twitter writing contests and was a finalist in the Kid’s Choice KidLit Writers Contest. She is a proud PB Rising Stars Mentee Alumna.

Prior to becoming a school counselor, she wrote professionally in the public relations and marketing field for more than 10 years. She also did some freelance writing for local magazines and newspapers. Tunisia was one of four co-hosts for the #PBPowerHour, a free monthly virtual workshop of writing-based exercises. She is represented by Chelsea Hensley, Mad Woman Literary Agency.

Cathy Goldberg Fishman

Treasurer, 2022 - 2025; Member at Large, 2026

Cathy Goldberg Fishman is a children’s book author known for celebrating diversity in her stories, including A Winter Walk in the City, A Spring Stroll in the City, A Fall Frolic in the City, and A Summer Stroll in the City. She also wrote When Jackie and Hank Met, a picture book bio of Jackie Robinson and Hank Greenberg.

Cathy is a former teacher and bookstore owner, and her award-winning books, recognized by the Sydney Taylor Notable Book Award and the Parents’ Choice Award, continue to inspire readers and families worldwide. Cathy is married to Steven Fishman and has two grown children and four granddaughters. Her son Xan (married to Katie Cassling) lives and works in Washington, DC, and her daughter Brittany ( married to Andrew Pais) lives and works in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Tom Mack

Treasurer, 2026 - 2028

A recipient of the Governor’s Award in the Humanities, Tom Mack holds the rank of USC Distinguished Professor Emeritus. During his nearly forty years as a faculty member at USC Aiken, he was regularly recognized for his teaching, service, and scholarship, including his receipt of the prestigious Carolina Trustee Professorship in 2008. Of his nine books to date, three are focused on local cultural history: Circling the Savannah, Hidden History of Aiken County, and Hidden History of Augusta, all published by The History Press. Since 1990, Dr. Mack has contributed a weekly “Arts and Humanities” column to The Aiken Standard.

For the last fifteen years, he has also covered the visual arts scene in the Carolina Midlands for the Post and Courier Columbia/Free Times. His work for mass media has been honored by the Greater Augusta Arts Council and the South Carolina Press Association. Among his edited volumes are The South Carolina Encyclopedia Guide to South Carolina Writers (USC Press) as well as A Shared Voice: A Tapestry of Tales and Southern Voices: Fifty Contemporary Poets (Lamar University Press). Dr. Mack is also past chair of the South Carolina Academy of Authors and South Carolina Humanities, the state’s program of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Cindy Boudreaux

Membership Liaison, 2026 - 2028

Cindy Boudreaux, originally from Bradenton, FL, is a long-time resident of Aiken County (SC) along with her husband, Ray, of 33 years. Cindy is a nationally board-certified and licensed occupational therapy assistant specializing in pediatrics. Additionally, she is the National Special Needs Coordinator for the Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome Foundation, where she has volunteered for the last 30 years.

Cindy is the author of the children’s book titled Possibilities, which is nationally recognized by the Disability Book Week Organization as a disability-inclusive read. Possibilities was written to give her daughter, Alyson, a voice, with the hope of facilitating acceptance, awareness, and inclusion for differently abled individuals.

Cindy is passionate about philanthropy, especially for those who are differently abled or underprivileged. She is working on a branded children’s book series that showcases a different disability in each book. The proceeds of each book will benefit the national organization represented by the special needs featured.

Cindy serves on the board as the New Member Liaison for the Authors Club of Augusta. Although self-dubbed “an accidental author,” she feels privileged to have made intentional, meaningful connections and growth with fellow members of the Authors Club of Augusta.

David Hutchison

Member-at-Large, 2026

David is the owner of The Book Tavern, a new and used bookstore in Downtown Augusta. His passion for reading and literacy convinced him to enter one of the worst businesses for making money: bookselling. Though his life as a pauper is ensured, he finds great comfort in the community of readers he is able to support in the Augusta River Region. Besides sitting on the board of the ACA, he is the current chair of Downtown Soul City, an organization dedicated to promoting the flourishing of Downtown Augusta's independently owned businesses.

Melissa Burch

Member-at-Large, 2026

Growing up, Melissa always admired her grandfather, a traditionally published author, and remembers dreaming of writing her own while walking the aisles of the children's section of her hometown library. It wasn’t until after she spent 17 years in dentistry and had four kids of her own that inspired her to write her first book, The Three Bears, Blondie, and Their Spaghetti, and two more quickly followed. The highlights of her publishing journey include her book Whatever You Do… Don’t Brush Your Teeth! was picked up by Kids Read Now, a national non-profit children's literacy program, and her book STICK with ME! Won Children's Book of the Year (2026) by the Georgia Independent Authors Association.

As a self-published author, Melissa sets out to publish the most professional products she can by collaborating with a team of professionals to co-produce children's books that are entertaining, educational, and empowering.

Melissa is originally from AZ but has called the CSRA home for 11 years. As a board member of the Authors Club of Augusta, Melissa enjoys connecting with fellow writers and encouraging authors at every stage of their publishing journey.

Tiffany Manriquez

Secretary, 2026 - 2028

Since stealing her first romance novel from her mother more than thirty years ago, author Tiffany Manriquez has been all in on the genre. Her infatuation with happily ever afters stirred her to write her own stories. Tiffany writes Victorian romances under the pen name Ramona Elmes and will be releasing her first contemporary romance series in 2026 under the pen name Bibi Munoz. She finds that nothing is better than writing meet-cutes, steamy moments, dramatic yet humorous storylines, and happily ever afters.

When not creating ways to entice and torture her characters, she spends her days in Georgia, coordinating her family’s crazy life, refereeing pets, hiking, and reading on her front porch. Prior to writing full-time, Tiffany was a data analyst for over 20 years and still dabbles in code, data, and analytics from time to time. She also serves as secretary for the Author’s Club of Augusta.

Pamela Hayward

Secretary, 2023 - 2025, Interim Member at Large, 01/2026 - 06/2026

Pamela Hayward is a professor in the Department of Communication at Augusta University. She is also director of the Integrated Studies program. Originally from Illinois, she worked as a journalist and in marketing before moving into academics and has published pedagogical and research articles

She enjoys writing nonfiction and has been recognized for her work - winning awards from the Sandhills Writing Conference and the Porter Fleming competition.
